Child abuse is a world wide problem that s not cared for as much as it should be. Child abuse is a very large problem in the world as it can come in multiple ways, emotional abuse, physical abuse, and sexual abuse. 5 children die everyday annually in America. And world wide 500 million to 1.5 billion endure some form of violence. The biggest form of violence of the three is neglect which falls under emotional at 59% of the reports filed among all child abuse reports. Emotional abuse is sometimes called physiological abuse because it can damage a child s health and development. Emotional abuse can be: yelling, blaming, ignoring, secluding them etc. Emotional abuse can be divided into two categories, passive emotional abuse†¦show more content†¦Sexual abuse is unwanted sexual activity, with the abusers using force, making threats or taking advantage of victims not able to give consent. Most victims and abusers know each other. Of the sexually abused, 18 – 34 years of age is the highest risk years of being raped and sexually assaulted. The rate of sexual abuse is so high that 1 in every 6 young women have been the victim of attempted or completed rape. While it s not talked about as much men also are victims of rape and sexual abuse. A study shows that men are actually 5x more likely to be sexually abused. But because of the society we live in where it s said men can t be victims of sexual abuse and rape and that reporting such thing would make them weak, the male abuse report is significantly lower than the females filed abuse reports. Men don t like to file reports because they have been raised to â€Å"man up† and subside pain and fear in this society. This is absurd, FCASV stated â€Å"We don t like to think about it, and we don t like to talk about it, but the fact is that men can also be sexually victimized. Studies show that a staggering 10-20% of all males are sexually violated at some point in their lifetimes. Men are not immune to the epidemic of sexual violence, nor are male survivors safe from the stigma that society attaches to victims of rape.
